Love Light and Peace | Inspirational Sayings

Some days I just want to spread as much love, light and peace as I can. I know it may seem naive or silly, to some, when people share these kinds of pictures and these kinds of sentiments. But I do not think that. I think that it is all of these little things, all of these little sayings and sentiments, add up… and they CAN and DO make a difference in the world.

When you are on Facebook or Twitter or Pinterest, or when you open your email and see some lovely image, or read an inspiring quote, it may only last a minute, but admit it, you like the feeling it gives you. You may get a little warm feeling in your heart or you may feel a little smile spread across your face. When I share a little happy picture or inspirational quote or saying, that’s all I want. I just want that moment for you.

Why do I want that? Well, I want that because if you have a moment like that, maybe first thing in the morning or maybe during a break in your daily routine… or maybe even in a moment when you were feeling a little bit down… what happens? You take that little warm feeling, that little smile, and you bring it with you into the rest of your day. And maybe, you might share that little inspiration or lovely feeling with someone else, and they will get their own warm feeling or smile… or maybe you will just take that feeling that cheered you up a little and cheer someone else up.

Or maybe you won’t. But guess what? I’d much rather take the chance and assume that you will… and not worry about it if you don’t or if you think I’m silly or whatever. I’m okay with that.

You see, I’ve always sort of envied the people that bring BIG beauty or BIG inspiration into the world. I’ve always sort of wished I could do THAT. But, then, I thought about it. While that is a wonderful thing to do, I also think it is just as wonderful, and just as important to bring those little moments of beauty and the quick instances of inspiration into the world. When we pepper our days with those little ones… well, it makes a big difference. It just does.

Affirmation: I find love everywhere | Inspirational Quotes and Sayings

Here is an awesome affirmation for you, for today or any day:

I am very grateful for all the love in my life. I find it everywhere.

When we look for the love in every situation, with every person we are with… in any given moment, it is so amazing how it works… we start seeing it and finding it everywhere we go. If you write this affirmation down and keep it with you, or put it up around your house somewhere that you will see it, and read it, I think you’ll be surprised at how much love you will find at every turn you make!

I am reminded of the verse from the Bible – from Corinthians 13:4-7:

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

I remember this verse from when I was a very little girl going to church with my parents. This was always one of my favorites… and it sticks with me to this day. I admit, it is one of the verses that left me pondering the question of why all the people didn’t understand this and live in these words. I think that I was born to share and illuminate love on this planet. I think we were all born to share and illuminate love on this planet. I think there is no greater task for anyone to accept as their true heart’s calling.

You don’t have to be famous, you don’t have to be rich or highly educated or be in a position of influence or power to have a profound effect on the world. Really, all you have to do is love and be loved. There is nothing greater than that.

Move in the Direction of Your Dreams | Divine Inspiration

I do believe in the power of affirmations. I believe that they are helpful to creating the life you desire. I don’t believe that affirmations can be the ONLY step you take towards realizing and manifesting your best life… but they certainly help. For an affirmation to be most powerful, it helps to repeat it regularly.

Here is an affirmation for today: I feel motivated and am moving in the direction of my dreams.

There are lots of ways to remind yourself to repeat your affirmation… write it on a sticky note and put it where you’ll see it, write it on your bathroom mirror or tape it to your nightstand so you can remember to repeat it at bedtime. I have one friend that suggests using a rosary or prayer beads and repeating the affirmation once for every bead. She says that is the way for you to really get it into your sub-conscious mind. You can also use affirmations with self-hypnosis techniques to really get them in there. You can also write them down repeatedly. The act of writing them helps cements them into your mind and helps them to become more real.

The important thing for me is to choose an affirmation that truly reflects what I want to achieve. Words have power. That is why affirmations have power.

I love to share affirmations. I think it is a good way to spread a little positivity. I post affirmations and inspirational quotes and sayings to the blog here at Onederous Tribe because I think these things are important. We need more of them in the world… so, please, if you ever find an affirmation or an inspirational quote here that particularly resonates with you… share it! I want nothing more than to spread love and inspiration around the world. I believe the world is a much better place when you can find inspiration and love in the things we share out across our online communities!

The Light is One | Inspirational Quotes

I have spent many years in my life collecting inspirational quotes and sayings. I have a collection that surpasses many, I believe. But now, with the internet, inspirational quotes are just a few keystrokes away at any given moment.

I remember reading Rumi quotes long before they were able to be found everywhere. I studied Eastern religion and I have always been an avid fan of J.D. Salinger (he quotes a lot of Eastern poets and philosophers in his books). There is really just something about Rumi that touches our hearts. The quote that is the subject of this post is no different. It goes straight to the heart and the truth of things. It is the embodiment of divine inspiration, if you will.

“The candles are many but the light is one.” This expresses exactly what I see as being the human experience, the human truth. As humans, we are each a candle unto ourselves, but the light that emanates from us is from the same source, and in fact, is the same light.

Whatever name you have for the creative energy that is responsible for our existence on this planet, I believe that is the source of this light. Some force of energy created us, and that same force holds us together. When we look inside of our hearts, or our soul, or our spirit, or whatever we see as what gives us breath, we can see a light. I ask you to look at this light right now. Is it big? Is it small? Is it steady or does it flicker? Whatever it looks like, expand it out… watch it grow. See how big you can make it.

This is, in my experience, the very light of the Creator, the Universe… God, if you like. This is the light that animates us. This is the light that gives us breath. It is where we came from and it is where we will return to.

And yes. We are individuals. We are here in this human form so that we can experience this individuality. But that does not mean that we are not all one light. We are many candles… but the light is one.

I love this quote. It really is inspirational. It reminds me of who I really am. I hope it reminds you of who you really are, too… and inspires you to shine your light a little bigger and a little brighter every day.
