*So, I guess I’m having a renewed realization of how much I interact with my animals both physically and…well, psychically. They teach me many things and if I ponder just long enough there is usually an epiphany or two. Which I am more than happy to share with you! *: )
After my dog chose to use the potty on our deck instead of the yard (I can only assume 8 inches of snow is 8 inches of snow and close and handy is the preferred)…it made me think how we can misunderstand peoples intentions. To him, it probably all looked the same. Traversing the icy path across the deck and down the stairs to the yard just didn’t work for him. Maybe, in his canine wisdom, he knew it might even be dangerous. Hey, at least he didn’t do it in the house right? Of course I thought “crazy dog, go in the yard!”…..yet he knew instinctively what was safe and it made perfect sense to him. It was my job to eliminate one of his choices (shovel the snow) and correct his perception in order for him to follow through with what I wanted.
Now, with dogs I see that as perfectly acceptable being they have no 0pposable thumbs, etc. But with the people in our lives, are we constantly trying to manipulate situations to guide them in line with what we see as acceptable? Or are we using that talent (or perspective) to simply show alternative ways for them to choose from? Sit back and think about your intentions today, always with love.
