Eliminate Negative Thoughts and Lose Weight

You think thousands of thoughts each day. You talk to yourself more than anyone else. You are your most trusted advisor and confidant. Many of the conversations that you have with yourself you would never share with anyone else because to do so would expose the “real” you. The you that is filled with self doubt, worries, sadness, guilt, hurts and disappointments.

Eliminate Negative Thoughts and Lose Weight Inspired ActionBut this is not the “real you” at all. This is the you that your ego and belief systems have constructed. These negative beliefs have been constructed by you, and accepted by you as truth. The sad thing is that nothing can be further from the truth.

Where did these false ideas about you originate? They mostly came from others; parents, teachers, co-workers, and friends. They might have planted the seed by saying something like “she is fat” and you have cultivated those comments to the point that they have become your truth.

You are allowing your entire life to be controlled by some obscure comments made years ago. Nobody has the right or power to dictate who you are. Only you know who you truly are and what’s in your heart.

When you were born you entered this world without the burdens of you current negative belief system. You entered this world as a beautiful bundle of joy filled with unlimited potential and possibilities.

I’m here to tell you that you have not changed. You are still and will always be a beautiful bundle of joy with unlimited potential and possibilities.

The only difference is what you give your attention to. Let me ask you a question. If you stopped all the negative talk that you currently have with yourself such as:

I’m too fat
Why would anyone want to love me?
I will never be thin
I always fail

And the list can go on and on… How would you feel ? Do you think that you would feel emotionally lighter ? Do you think that you would feel happier ? Do you think that you would feel more confident ?

Now how do you think your life would change if you were to go one step further and modify your self talk by only speaking positively about yourself. If you take some time and focus on what you like about yourself and focus on only that your emotional state will become positive to the point that you will be able to accomplish anything.

Once you begin looking for the positive things within you, you will be surprised to realize your magnificence has always been there just below the surface. You have never been anything other then that shining bundle of joy that entered the world years ago. It’s easy to uncover positive aspects of yourself by asking some questions.

What am I good at?
Who has benefited by me being in the world?
Who am I, what is in my heart that only I know?
What do I like about my body?

Your goal is to feel good now. How do you feel now? If you only observe what you feel is positive about you, you will feel good, you will be happy. Decide right here and right now how you want to feel. Decide that you will always look for the good within you and appreciate that goodness.

So what does all of this have to do with losing weight? Everything!!! Your emotional state is the control valve that determines what you draw into your experience. How you talk to yourself creates your beliefs and programs your subconscious. So you need to ask yourself do you want your beliefs and subconscious programming to be based on false negative thinking. Or do you want your beliefs to be based on the truth, that you are and always have been a perfect being.

Begin today to love and nurture yourself. Allow the joy, playfulness and enthusiasm that you naturally had as a child begin to flow into your everyday experiences. Allow yourself to celebrate each and every success no matter how small. Love and appreciate yourself every opportunity you have. Do this everyday and watch your weight begin to dissolve just as your old negative beliefs about yourself begin to dissolve.

Inspired Action | How Secure is your Firewall?

I have a friend who is having some issues.  I know, we all have friends with issues as well as our own issues, nothing new there. This one is special though. Not only is she a special person but our recent discovery is by far the coolest thing I’ve been a part of in all my years of practice.  Among her list of trials, experiences and challenges in her life is one of health and weight.  Now before I go any further let me say that ‘weight’ is the word we use here but my belief is that what is going on in just about anybody’s head is far beyond just body weight.  That though, is a different story.

How Secure is Your Firewall?
How Secure is Your Firewall?

I have worked on her, energetically, several times. Counseled with her (giving as well as receiving) and met as friends to have or give a shoulder.  I know who she is and what she believes, how diligently she works on herself and how she presents herself.  So for me to be witness to this particular epiphany was mind-boggling, enlightening and just plain exciting!

She came in for an appointment this week and we covered both old ground and new ground.  Old ground being  her weight and health.  She has worked (literally) for years to heal herself.  Removing triggers, self-sabotage, traumas and a general feeling of not being valuable in the world.  More recently she has focused on removing behaviors as well as emotional triggers which she believes contributes to her inability to be healthy and at a desirable weight (for her).  Confused?  Yes she is.  Lots of work and in her eyes, no results.

As I am working on her to energetically clear her lymph system she is allowing herself to express random thoughts.  Guess what came out.   “People who get cancer loose weight”.  BINGO!  DING-DING! BULLSEYE!  There it is…her FIREWALL.  That is a fail-safe belief if I’ve ever heard one.  The Trojan horse couldn’t get past that gate.

The point here is, it doesn’t matter how much work we do on ourselves or how much we clear away.  If you have built in a firewall a fail-safe to protect a belief,  you will not get to your goal.  And get this, we all have them!  Let’s understand that the reason we build this firewall is to protect ourselves, it works for us, it serves us, for a time.  Then there comes a time when it no longer serves us but hurts us, stops us from getting to our goal, stops us from healing and being all we were meant to be.   Until we uncover what we have written on our firewall it isn’t going to work.  It never hurts to clear away old stuff, that’s how we get to the real issue.   Clearing will eventually lead you to your fail-safe belief, but you have to keep going until you get there, painful as it might be.

Do you have an issue or situation that you just can’t get ahold of?  Can’t seem to get to your goal?  How does or did that belief serve you?  This is the first question to ask, ‘How did this belief serve me’.  Then what firewall, fail-safe belief did you put in place to protect your original belief?  Whew! Complicated right?

We all have them and yes they serve us, but not in this time of shift, of enlightenment.  Not in this time of raising our vibrations.  Time to bring down that obsolete firewall and install a new higher vibration, kick-ass belief that supports the beautiful light being that you are.  Reboot!

Inspired Action | The Spiritual Side of Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcakes

Like most people, I figure, I have personal issues I am working on healing. I’ve done a lot of healing over the last several years, and feel really good about a lot of the stuff that used to challenge me. One of the challenges that still confronts me on most days, however, is my body. I haven’t made peace with it (this human vehicle) yet, I guess. I’m working on it.

ChocolatePBBlackBeanCupcakes-2251I’m determined to find a spiritual solution to this challenge. Throughout my life I have gone through many different periods of dieting and “eating healthy” and “just” making “lifestyle changes” (these are code words for dieting, I think!). I’ve been healthier and less healthy. I’ve been heavier and less heavy (I don’t think I’ve been “thin” since before puberty, though). I’ve been extremely unhappy and just delighted with my body. I’ve been accepting of and very disapproving of myself.

I’ve worked on healing the emotional causes, too – I consider this to be “mental” and “emotional” work. And through the ups and downs and trying to deal with my body issues in a myriad of physical, mental and emotional ways, I’ve started to believe that it truly comes down to finding a spiritual solution.

I am now embarking on a new journey around finding that spiritual solution, and I plan to share that journey – so stay tuned! But as I am starting down the road, it occurs to me that this spiritual solution must start with what I think about, what I focus my attention on. So, I want to share something I’ve been thinking about today, with you.

I have been spending a lot of time on Pinterest these days. I look at all the amazing pictures of food, and I read the recipes and my mouth waters as I think about all the great new ideas for cooking and baking that I see, and how I could make all of that in my own kitchen (I used to cook and bake quite a lot while the kids were growing up). But I read something the other day that makes me pause. It was just a little blurb, and it said something about how the calorie-counts on most of the recipes people pin to their boards are huge.

Anyway, I find this recipe for what seems to be very delicious gluten-free chocolate peanut butter cupcakes, and I think, “this I’ve got to try” – calorie-count be damned! Off to the grocery store I go, to pick up the ingredients I need that I don’t have, and I just keep thinking, as I’m shopping… no matter how high the calorie count is, it has to be better for my body than anything I might buy at the grocery store bakery… or worse yet, at the convenience store or fast-food restaurant!

So, this is where my thoughts end up – we (and I mean me, as well as so many of us in this culture), often eat out of fast-food restaurants, and the deli (and bakery) at the market, and when we do cook, we get mixes and quick fixes. All of this food is basically lifeless. It is started in factories and is completed by either mostly unhappy workers or by ourselves in a hurried and mindless fashion. I wonder what would happen if we quit eating all of that stuff, and only eat whole (naturally intact) foods, and food that we make, from recipes (instead of boxes) in our own kitchens – with love, mindfulness and positive intention?

I bet that if we did this, we could eat ALL of those high-calorie dishes made from ALL those mouth-watering recipes on Pinterest, every single day, and still be healthier and lighter in our shoes than most of us are right now. Even if we eat cupcakes that have Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups baked into them!

Well… I’ll let you know how the cupcakes turned out!

Blessings and JOYFUL eating to you!

Donna
