EFT and NLP for a Healthier Body and Mind

EFT and NLP for a Healthier Body and Mind Inspired ActionEmotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) are completely different types of therapies and both are incredibly effective in their own right.  Many people these days have come to realize that together, EFT and NLP provide greater transformational results.

About NLP

NLP, which started in the 1970s, is a powerful tool for personal change that uses subjective experience to shape and create a desired reality.  NLP practitioners use the processes of thought and language to help change negative or unhelpful behavior and improve existing skills.  The therapy provides focus and direction to enhance states of well-being.  Thus, you feel good not by chance, but by choice.

NLP is based on the principle that your reality is the result of how you imagine yourself to be.  If you think of yourself as miserable loser, your life will become miserable.  By providing a brighter self-image, you can improve your self-esteem and become happier and more successful.  NLP works by interrupting unhealthy or unhelpful behavior and thinking, and replacing them with positive thoughts and actions to help you get ahead in life.

Purposeful use of language – usually in a conversational manner – helps anchor positive feelings so you can easily access them and create positive changes in the way you think and act.

About EFT

EFT is a type of energy therapy that involves tapping on acupressure or meridian points in the body while you talk, or think about issues and problems you want to resolve.  EFT has its roots in acupuncture, the ancient Chinese healing method.  Acupuncture is based on the belief that energy flows throughout the body in meridians or “streams.”  Blockages or disruptions in energy flow cause illness or negative feelings.

In EFT, tapping on specific points while talking restores balance and free flow of energy.  This releases negative feelings and physical tensions often within minutes.

EFT and NLP for Healing

Combining EFT and NFT techniques is extremely effective in resolving many issues such as phobias, post traumatic stress disorders, migraines, and overweight problems.  NLP has been used for decades to treat trauma and phobias.  More recently, EFT was added to the arsenal of treatment methods for mental, physical and emotional issues.

EFT harnesses body and mind (tapping combined with purposeful use of language) to release energy blocks and emotions that may be holding you back.  Language is used in a specific way in doing so   practitioners and EFT coaches recommend a “formula” or “pattern” of phrases or sentences to say while you tap.  When done the right way, healing often takes place very quickly.

NLP language patterns can be used with EFT techniques to enhance the healing process.  NLP also helps uncover underlying issues responsible for emotional and mental problems.  It’s a very powerful tool that uses thought and language process to help you recognize and identify the behaviors and beliefs that can lead to healing and success.

While many issues can be resolved using one technique or the other, a growing number of people now believe that using EFT with NLP is more effective and provides quicker results.  Traumas and phobias respond well to both techniques.

EFT is particularly good at separating the negative emotions from the stimulus or memory thereby making it effective for the treatment of fears and phobias.  NLP is also good at identifying specific issues.  The reason why both work well together is because NLP helps the person peel off the layers of issues responsible for the problem, stress, or phobia while EFT helps neutralize and eliminate the unwanted emotional response.

Conclusion

NLP techniques can be used to expedite the EFT session and EFT can be used to enhance NLP techniques.  Using NLP in conjunction with EFT resolves negative issues more quickly and reinforces general health and well-being.

God Loves Beyond Measure | Divine Inspiration

The following is from one of my favorite newsletters. I get it in my inbox every day. I don’t actually read it every day. I get a ton of emails and I don’t always give myself time to read everything that comes through. However, I do always trust that if I’m meant to see something, if I’m meant to get a certain message, I always get guided to do so.  Today, I was very much guided to open up and read my Heavenletters™ Newsletter (you can find them at Heavenletters.org). This inspirational message really went straight to my heart.  It was a message I really needed to hear. I’m so grateful that I know how to follow my guidance. When I do, I am always rewarded.

I just wanted to share this with you today.  Maybe you will feel the divine inspiration from it the way I do. If it catches your eye, then the message must be for you, too!

God said:

Accept how much I love you, love you as you are. Accept how much I love you and how much My love is dependent upon nothing but My love for you and not upon qualifying standards that you may think you have to strive for. It behooves you not to wait for My love dependent upon your earning it. My love is sacrosanct. My love is not changeable. My love for you is dependent upon My love for you which is a constant. It is not dependent upon your sense of peace or worth or anything. My love is not something that you have to qualify for. Judgment is not My way nor is judgment your way. My love is not a kind of fraternity in which you have to be selected. My love is not exclusive. My love is inclusive.

I award My love to all. My love is a given. It is the one thing you can count on. My love for you is a given, and it is a given never withdrawn from you. I do not give with one hand and take back with another. My love is a sure thing. My love is given freely. And you are to do the same.

You are not to assess My love as though it were a levy according to your perception of events in your life. You do not total up all the figures to make sure I did it right. No, My love is given spontaneously. I do not size you up. I do not weigh you on a scale. I do not deal in pounds and ounces or other kinds of worldly measures.

I do not measure. I love.

I do not look askance. How are you to go beyond worldly measurements unless I do the same? If I had a scale, which I don’t, by what right would I weigh a child of Mine with My thumb on the scale? Would I have a cut-off? Would I be so arbitrary? No. I have no elite squad. My children are not required to be what you call enlightened.

Life itself is an initiation. You learn your way in life. I am not a God Who tells you to do what I say and not what I do. Not at all. My love is not hit or miss or just sometimes depending. There is a big difference between earmarking love and simply giving it. I give. I bet on everyone.

I am not a dealer nor an assessor. I do not give to only those with a proven record. Your record does not precede you. Love precedes you, beloveds. What does My love have to do with performance? As if you first have to measure up, and then I love you. I love you first. I love you first, and I love you irrevocably. I do not tease you with love. What kind of a God do you think I am?

I am a constant God. It is not hit or miss with Me. I am definitely for you, and for you regardless of the relative world. If you want to say I love you anyway, you can say that, but I do not see it as loving you regardless. I simply love you. There is nothing I have to set aside or hold in abeyance.

You can say, if you like, that you have to earn My love, yet that is not how it is. Let Us say that I give you all My love before anything else, and, then, as it happens, love swirls in your heart. But nowhere do I have the idea of your meriting My love or not meriting it. I don’t think that way. I do not think in those terms. My love is well-founded. It is My love, and I give it across the board. I give love. I give it. I give it. I give it.

Why Not Meditate?

By Yamuna Loyal

‘The most powerful benefit that I have experienced from meditation is that it makes my mind much sharper. It allows the haziness in my mind to be cleared away so that everything makes sense to me and connects with my ideas. – Jamil Nasir, Lawyer  Inspired Action | Why not meditate

Gone are the days when meditation was some wacky word that only strange and different people used. Nowadays, meditation is being increasingly recognized as something which really offers some practical solutions to our national epidemic – namely Stress Factor 10.

Stress & Stress Related Illness

In our fast moving world, meditation, concentration, and relaxation are becoming vital tools for success both in the workplace and at home. Meditation has been used extensively to alleviate stress induced conditions both in business and at home. These can range from simple headaches and high blood pressure to arthritis and heart problems.

Medical research has confirmed that meditation has a profound influence on decreasing the harmful effects of stress. Prolonged levels of stress can lead to illness and consequent absenteeism. From my experience, teaching meditation in the workplace, as well as in courses up and down the country, meditation helps to dissolve stress effectively, helps people to learn to relax at will and thereby stay effective throughout the day.

In a study with 77 men and women following a ten week program of meditation, ALL reported a remarked improvement in their stress symptoms.

Does it really work?

Heart Disease
Research in the US with the pioneering heart surgeon Dr Dean Ornish, has shown that heart disease can be reversed through lifestyle changes which include meditation, correct diet, yoga and exercise. Meditation is a key component of Dr Dean Ornish’s therapy which is the only scientifically proven treatment to reverse heart disease.

High Blood Pressure
In a study of 36 people, the average blood pressure declined significantly after several weeks of practising meditation.

Peace of Mind
Meditation has been found to bring greater calmness and clarity of mind which in turn results in greater effectiveness in the workplace. You can practice meditation in the boardroom or the bedroom, before a sports game, important interview, while travelling, or at home. Wherever you find yourself, the benefits are always effective and far-reaching.

Mind Management
Successful people know that it is not intelligence that determines how successful we are in business, but a positive self belief that what we want is achievable, coupled with the will and right actions to follow through with an effective strategy, of course. Meditation teaches you to take charge of your mind, thoughts and beliefs, decreasing the gap between potential and output.

Emotional Balance
We all know how important and essential enthusiasm and passion are for achieving success. Learning how to increase your emotional intelligence and turn negative emotions really does increase motivation and help maintain high energy levels, even when the going gets tough.

What is Meditation?
Meditation is a highly effective method for working on the mind. It promotes an alert and skilful state of mind which requires us to remain present and ‘with’ whatever is happening in and around us.

How do you meditate?

It’s about sitting quietly and focusing the mind – often on the breath or a word such as ‘relax’. Concentration and visualisation also play a big part in the process. ‘Focus’is the key word. People often say that they have ‘tried to meditate but couldn’t switch off.’ This is absolutely right. It is almost impossible to sit down, close your eyes and just meditate. There is a definite process that facilitates meditation. Here it is:
– The first thing you have to do is to energise your body. You cannot meditate if you are tired. All you will achieve is sitting up sleep!
– Secondly, you need to do something called ‘Energy Block Release’ movements. (see Dru Yoga DVD) These movements facilitate the release of negative or unwanted energy from the muscles and organs of the body. They take away the aches and pains that can beleaguer our attempts at sitting still.
– Relaxation is the next and most important step. The mind needs to be relaxed in order to focus. Deep relaxation releases stress at a profound level, which in turn clears the mind of unwanted emotions and thoughts, clearing the way for concentration.
– Focusing the mind in a one-pointed way is essential to the process of meditation. This can include counting your breaths, focusing on one point, watching the seconds hand on your watch.

In my experience of a two hour session in the workplace, it takes one hour and forty minutes to prepare people who are not at all familiar with meditation to get to a point where they can actually focus the mind for twenty minutes. But those twenty minutes are very impressive! With all the mental gunk out of the way, the experience of meditation becomes possible.

The experience? What is that?
It is a sense of deep stillness and calm. The mind becomes essentially still, untroubled and free from thought and in that space everything inside you becomes peaceful and relaxed leaving you with a wonderful sense of wellbeing and that wonderful ‘I can do anything now’ feeling.

What are the Long-Term Benefits of Meditation?

Check this out: Scientific research shows that people who meditate enjoy:

– better memory
– clearer thinking
– greater ability to focus
– increased creativity
– Sharper intellect
– More alertness
– Higher IQ
– Sharper intellect
– Decreased anxiety
– Decreased depression
– Decreased irritability and moodiness
– Increased feelings of happiness and wellbeing
– Increased emotional stability
– Inner calm
– More self-confidence
– Deeper appreciation of self and others
– More harmonious behaviour
– Ability to feel better about self and others
– Less anxiety, anger and depression

Learn to Relax
The beauty of learning the skills of meditation is that you learn so much more on the way. One of them is the ability to relax at will.

This is how it goes. You get upset and tense up. The tension makes you feel bad and so more tension is created. The cycle perpetuates itself until you reach a maximum level or until you break the cycle and ‘let go’. This could be talking to someone, having a hot bath or going for a walk. The interesting thing is that if you regularly allow yourself to get into a stress cycle, then the maximum level of stress that the body can tolerate also rises. After a while, maybe a few years, you will find that you are suffering from hyper-stress and the body is seriously out of balance. At this stage, the body’s natural defence may become lowered and result in burnout or illness.

Here is a powerful aid to relaxation to start you off:

– Simply count your in and outbreaths. You could try this while out walking, using your steps to count as you synchronise the breath to your walking. Then adjust your breathing so that you make the inbreath equal to the outbreath.
– Ideally you would start by practising this equal breathing with a count of four.
– For example, breathe in: one, two, three, four, pause.
– Breathe out: one, two, three, four, pause.
– As you become more practised you can increase the count to five or six and so on.

Once you learn to relax at will and you learn to let go, you will start to experience more clarity about your life. This is because you have started to clear the clutter of disorganised, stressful thought patterns. Think of it as feng shui for the mind! And then you are ready to further investigate the art of concentration.

Simple Meditation
Practice gazing at an object for a few minutes every day. Typical objects that are used as a candle flame or a flower as the brain finds natural, non-linear shapes more restful than the linear environments that we are normally subjected to. Gazing is not staring. It is a gentle, unbroken point of contact on an object by the eyes. The eyes should be softened so that the process takes no energy from you, but adds to your energy.
