Eliminate Negative Thoughts and Lose Weight

You think thousands of thoughts each day. You talk to yourself more than anyone else. You are your most trusted advisor and confidant. Many of the conversations that you have with yourself you would never share with anyone else because to do so would expose the “real” you. The you that is filled with self doubt, worries, sadness, guilt, hurts and disappointments.

Eliminate Negative Thoughts and Lose Weight Inspired ActionBut this is not the “real you” at all. This is the you that your ego and belief systems have constructed. These negative beliefs have been constructed by you, and accepted by you as truth. The sad thing is that nothing can be further from the truth.

Where did these false ideas about you originate? They mostly came from others; parents, teachers, co-workers, and friends. They might have planted the seed by saying something like “she is fat” and you have cultivated those comments to the point that they have become your truth.

You are allowing your entire life to be controlled by some obscure comments made years ago. Nobody has the right or power to dictate who you are. Only you know who you truly are and what’s in your heart.

When you were born you entered this world without the burdens of you current negative belief system. You entered this world as a beautiful bundle of joy filled with unlimited potential and possibilities.

I’m here to tell you that you have not changed. You are still and will always be a beautiful bundle of joy with unlimited potential and possibilities.

The only difference is what you give your attention to. Let me ask you a question. If you stopped all the negative talk that you currently have with yourself such as:

I’m too fat
Why would anyone want to love me?
I will never be thin
I always fail

And the list can go on and on… How would you feel ? Do you think that you would feel emotionally lighter ? Do you think that you would feel happier ? Do you think that you would feel more confident ?

Now how do you think your life would change if you were to go one step further and modify your self talk by only speaking positively about yourself. If you take some time and focus on what you like about yourself and focus on only that your emotional state will become positive to the point that you will be able to accomplish anything.

Once you begin looking for the positive things within you, you will be surprised to realize your magnificence has always been there just below the surface. You have never been anything other then that shining bundle of joy that entered the world years ago. It’s easy to uncover positive aspects of yourself by asking some questions.

What am I good at?
Who has benefited by me being in the world?
Who am I, what is in my heart that only I know?
What do I like about my body?

Your goal is to feel good now. How do you feel now? If you only observe what you feel is positive about you, you will feel good, you will be happy. Decide right here and right now how you want to feel. Decide that you will always look for the good within you and appreciate that goodness.

So what does all of this have to do with losing weight? Everything!!! Your emotional state is the control valve that determines what you draw into your experience. How you talk to yourself creates your beliefs and programs your subconscious. So you need to ask yourself do you want your beliefs and subconscious programming to be based on false negative thinking. Or do you want your beliefs to be based on the truth, that you are and always have been a perfect being.

Begin today to love and nurture yourself. Allow the joy, playfulness and enthusiasm that you naturally had as a child begin to flow into your everyday experiences. Allow yourself to celebrate each and every success no matter how small. Love and appreciate yourself every opportunity you have. Do this everyday and watch your weight begin to dissolve just as your old negative beliefs about yourself begin to dissolve.

Emotional Freedom Techniques & Answers From Acupunture

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a healing tool based on the theory that our emotions and physical symptoms are linked to the underlying energy system of the body. That energy system is the acupuncture meridian system known to the Chinese for thousands of years.

EFT was developed by Stanford Engineer Gary Craig, who discovered the basic theory in 1991 and continues to this day to develop and improve on EFT applications.

The underpinning theory of EFT is simple, yet sheds a whole new light on our emotional experiences and how we interpret them.

Gary Craig’s EFT discovery statement asserts that: “The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system.” He believes that “our unresolved negative emotions are major contributors to most physical pains and diseases.”

EFT and Answers From Acupunture Inspired ActionHow Does EFT Work?

Chinese Medicine and the ancient Indian Science of Ayurveda both support the concept that our emotional experiences, in particular resentments, hurts and anger, contribute significantly to the development of disease in the human body.

While the EFT theory that all negative emotions are caused by a disruption in the energy system of the body may sound odd at first, the idea is far from new. In fact, it’s 5,000 years old and was more recently enforced by Albert Einstein who taught that everything is made of energy.

The reason EFT works so well is purely because it embraces the secrets of Eastern healing traditions that have been overlooked by the west.

Acupuncture is finally attracting interest, and research has been conducted to try and figure out how and why it works. Yet that research will always seek to put acupuncture in a box that makes sense to what conforms in the West. The impressive results of acupuncture have been called a placebo effect, when, in truth, they are due to an ancient understanding of meridian energy circuitry which runs throughout all living creatures.

EFT & Acupuncture

In acupuncture, points are carefully selected by practitioners trained to read the maps of the meridian system. EFT is based on a select few of these potent points known to excel in giving emotional and physical relief to anyone who simply learns where they are and how to use them. EFT doesn’t require expert knowledge, or the use of needles, the points are simply stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

We need only look to the fact that in China hundreds of people every day undergo heart surgery using nothing but acupuncture for anaesthesia, to realise that anything based on the solid healing foundation that acupuncture has to offer is worth exploring further.

Gary Craig developed EFT as an incredibly user friendly access point to the benefits of acupuncture and the healing potential latent within us all to deal with our physical and emotional pain. EFT’s track record for relieving negative emotions, anxiety and trauma has earned it the descriptive title of “acupuncture for the emotions, but without the needles.”

The EFT Challenge

There’s an old saying that we should judge a tree by it’s fruits. The fruits of EFT can be quickly and easily tasted by learning the basics and setting EFT to work on dissolving any negative emotion. EFT takes just 5 minutes to learn, and then you can put it to the test of your own direct experience.

Meridian Tapping and PTSD

Traumatic experiences can cause a drastic disturbance in a person’s energy system, leading to long-term psychological, physical, and emotional consequences if left untreated.  Post traumatic stress disorder can develop in someone who has experienced a traumatic event such as war, natural disaster, rape, kidnapping, physical abuse, torture, or serious accident, and those who have witnessed death or acts of violence towards others.  The energy disturbance results in a variety of physical and psychological symptoms accompanied by uncontrollable emotions.

Meridian Tapping and PTSD Inspired ActionSome of the symptoms of PTSD include flashbacks, nightmares, intrusive memories, emotional numbing, behavioral changes, insomnia, and depression.  EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) using meridian tapping eases deep-seated negative emotions by unblocking energy with the simple method of tapping two fingers on strategic points in the body.

How Does Meridian Tapping for PTSD Work?

People with PTSD such as war vets, rape victims and other victims of violence can benefit from energy healing methods such as EFT.  Tapping is a technique that anyone can easily learn and self-apply.  This healing method has been used successfully countless times to cure or manage phobias, fears, negative thoughts, and traumatic memories.

Trauma creates stress which blocks the body’s energy, causing emotional and behavioral problems that can linger long after the trauma event has taken place.  The blockage can be removed by stimulating acupressure points in the body through finger tapping.

Meridian tapping is based on the ancient healing method of acupuncture used by the Chinese.  Acupuncture uses needles in certain points of the body to correct the flow and restore balance to the life energy or Chi.  Instead of using needles, tapping uses the fingers to apply pressure on specific meridian points in the body to eliminate the negative side effects of PTSD.

Meridian tapping is an effective energy healing method for the treatment of PTSD symptoms.  The technique is easy to learn and you can apply it on yourself to eliminate negative emotions and behavioral issues.

EFT involves tapping on a sequence of meridian points while focusing on the symptom that you wish to eliminate.  It takes practice to do this effectively, but even beginners can experience positive results immediately.  As you tap on each point, you should also say key words and phrases to help you focus on your specific problem.

How Effective is Tapping for PTSD?

A recent study conducted by the Foundation for Epigenetic Medicine revealed that Emotional Freedom Techniques using meridian tapping therapy is highly effective in treating post traumatic stress disorder and related psychological problems.  The study involved 59 US military veterans with PTSD.  The test subjects were split into two groups with one group receiving tapping therapy and the other group receiving standard treatment.

The result of the study showed that 90% of those who received EFT treatment no longer met the clinical criteria for PTSD.  In comparison, only 4% of those receiving standard treatment were able to overcome their psychological disorder.  The official report was published in the Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease.  It confirms that EFT is an effective treatment method for post traumatic stress disorder.

Beneficial for PTSD

EFT as a treatment for PTSD has very promising results.  Tapping releases negative emotions that disrupt the body’s energy system and can provide instant relief.  The rounds of sequential tapping has been shown to completely discharge the intense negative emotion associated with the memory of the traumatic experience.  The memories remain, but they no longer carry the negative feelings.

One advantage of EFT is that once the core issue is resolved, the problem does not come back.  Another advantage is that it is drug-free and works without exposing the patient to another traumatic or uncomfortable experience.

There are hundreds of recorded cases where EFT using meridian tapping has effectively treated war vets, firemen, paramedics, policemen, survivors of horrific accidents and natural disasters, and victims of rape and childhood abuse.  Given its track record, this new and “alternative” therapy could be the best and most effective treatment for PTSD sufferers.

Surrogate EFT: Is It Effective?

The effectiveness of EFT tapping is well known, but did you know that you can also perform EFT on behalf of somebody else?  This practice is called surrogate or proxy EFT.  It’s used for those who cannot tap for themselves, including children and animals.

Surrogate tapping is a relatively new practice but it’s attracting a lot of attention.  Naturally, everyone wants to know how to do it and if it’s really effective.

What Is Surrogate EFT?Surrogate EFT Is It Effective Inspired Action

Surrogate EFT involves performing Emotional Freedom Techniques or tapping for the benefit of another person.  It can be done for a variety of issues such as allergies, fears, discomfort or distress.  Parents may do it for a child who is afraid of flying or misbehaving.  Some people even use it for their pets or plants.

How To Do Surrogate Tapping

If you look around, you will find many occasions where proxy tapping is likely to be useful.  If you are on a plane with someone who is afraid of flying, you can tap on their behalf and help them lose their fear.

Before starting a proxy tapping session, make sure you are clear of negative issues and feel good about yourself.  Your EFT setup phrase may go something like this: Even though (name of person) has this problem, I completely accept him/her.  You can imagine a golden thread connecting you to the person (or animal) concerned.

Some people find it helpful to “be” the other person.  Image that you are the other person.  Your EFT setup phrase could go like this: Even though I have this problem, I completely accept myself.

Surrogate tapping proceeds just like any other tapping session.  Tap on the recommended meridian points while saying words of acceptance and affirmation.  Don’t worry about trying to find all the right words to say.  Believe in yourself and trust that what you are doing is best.

After the tapping session, give thanks for the healing and remove any connections you may have made to the person’s energy.  For example, you can imagine cutting the thread connecting you to the person.

How Effective Is Surrogate EFT?

Numerous cases of successful surrogate EFT have been reported, especially when using it to relieve physical pain and discomfort.  This method is also useful for releasing negative emotions as well as beliefs and decisions that are holding a person back.

Proxy tapping is not an easy task and should not be undertaken unless you are confident in your tapping skills.  You should also make sure you are free from negative issues yourself.

For successful surrogate tapping, you must learn to set your ego aside and focus on the needs of the other person.  You’ll get better at it the more you practice.  Keep in mind that you are only a channel or vessel for the healing process.

Some EFT experts recommend the use of NLP tools with surrogate EFT.  Role-playing is a strategy that people sometimes use in NLP, and it can also be used in proxy EFT.  Role playing allows you to take the viewpoint of another individual involved in the process, as well as the role of an outside spectator.  Viewing the issue from different perspectives can help resolve the problem more quickly.

Surrogate EFT Concerns

People may be reluctant to perform surrogate tapping, arguing that it may be “unfair” to the person concerned.  As long as your intentions are good, there should be no problems at all.  Proxy tapping should be done in a non-judgmental way, with the ultimate goal of releasing negative emotions and alleviating pain and discomfort.  Surrogate EFT is done not to control but to heal.
