You Can Acquire Personal Power Through Self-Development | Inspired Action

It is the natural right of every human being to be happy to escape all the miseries of life. Happiness is the normal condition, as natural as the landscapes and the seasons.  Happiness is the product of wisdom. To attain perfect wisdom, to comprehend fully the purpose of life, to realize completely the relationship of human beings to each other, is to put an end to all suffering, to escape every ill and evil that afflicts us. Perfect wisdom is unshadowed joy.  Acquire-Personal-Power-Through-Self-Development-Inspired-Action

Because in the scheme of nature we are being forced forward in evolution and we lack the spiritual illumination that alone can light the way and enable us to move safely among the obstacles that lie before us. Aside from these greater tragedies of life innumerable things of lesser consequence continually bring to us minor heartaches and little miseries. The thing we lack is the spiritual illumination that will enable us to look far and wide, finding the hidden causes of human suffering and revealing the method by which they may be avoided; and if we can but reach illumination the evolutionary journey can be made both comfortably and swiftly.

The theory was that when a man was born he was a completed human being and that all that could be done for him was to load him up with information that would be used with more or less skill, according to the native ability he happened to be born with. The theosophical idea is that the physical man, and all that constitutes his life in the physical world, is but a very partial expression of the self; that in the ego of each there is practically unlimited power and wisdom; that these may be brought through into expression in the physical world as the physical body and its invisible counterparts, which together constitute the complex vehicle of the ego’s manifestation, are evolved and adapted to the purpose; and that in exact proportion that conscious effort is given to such self-development will spiritual illumination be achieved and wisdom attained.

Chiefly because it separates us from those we love. The only other reason why death brings grief or fear is because we do not understand it and comprehend the part it plays in human evolution.

Why do we have enemies from whose words or acts we suffer? Because in our limited physical consciousness we do not perceive the unity of all life and realize that our wrong thinking and doing must react upon us through other people a situation from which there is no possible escape except through ceasing to think evil and then patiently awaiting the time when the causes we have already generated are fully exhausted. When spiritual illumination comes, and we no longer stumble in the night of ignorance, the last enemy will disappear and we shall make no more forever.

Why do people suffer from poverty and disease? Only because of our blundering ignorance that makes their existence possible for us, and because we do not comprehend their meaning and their lessons, nor know the attitude to assume toward them. Had we but the wisdom to understand why they come to people, why they are necessary factors in their evolution, they would trouble us no longer. When nature’s lesson is fully learned these mute teachers will vanish.

And so it is with all forms of suffering we experience. When we have comprehended the lessons they teach they are no longer necessary and disappear.

To attain perfect wisdom, to comprehend fully the purpose of life, to realize completely the relationship of human beings to each other, is to put an end to all suffering, to escape every evil and ill that afflicts us. Because in the scheme of nature we are being forced forward in evolution and we lack the spiritual illumination that alone can light the way and enable us to move safely among the obstacles that lie before us. The thing we lack is the spiritual illumination that will enable us to look far and wide, finding the hidden causes of human suffering and revealing the method by which they may be avoided; and if we can but reach illumination the evolutionary journey can be made both comfortably and swiftly. Because in our limited physical consciousness we do not perceive the unity of all life and realize that our wrong thinking and doing must react upon us through other people a situation from which there is no possible escape except through ceasing to think evil and then patiently awaiting the time when the causes we have already generated are fully exhausted. Only because of our blundering ignorance that makes their existence possible for us, and because we do not comprehend their meaning and their lessons, nor know the attitude to assume toward them.

Just Say No:Not Allowing Others to Manage Your Time

Written by Jennifer DeAnna

Running down the hall, with laptop in hand, scurrying to a meeting, in which I am already ten minutes late, while ducking around corners trying to dodge a bullying co-worker, right as I think I have successfully rescued myself, I try to maneuver my leg through the closing jaws of the elevator and then realized it was not my lucky day.  While managing to turn to the bullying co-worker’s voice calling my name, I yank my leg from the shutting mouth of the elevator, placed a fake smile on my face and asked the question as if I had no place to be: How can I help you? And like always she poured out the longest list that she some how decided were my duties; of course they weren’t. By this time I was use to being the go-to person for just about anything that needed to get done. As I maneuvered through my tote bag looking for my day-runner to jot down the never-ending list, something happened. While rummaging through the bag and dropping my laptop to the floor, I stopped, looked at the bullying co-worker and informed her that there was no space to add anything extra to my busy schedule. I literally looked at her and answered “no” to her never-ending list. She was shocked. I was amazed and set free by the word “no.”  Inspired Action | Just Say No

Many people loose sight of their time because they are always managing to make everyone else’s life a little bit easier. When we allow ourselves to constantly juggle priorities that aren’t ours to handle we are allowing others to control our time. And in situations like these the word “no” should become our very best friend. Learn to just say the word “no”. Some people like to measure success by how full their busy schedules are. Some people also think a constant hustle and bustle of life means they actually have a life. However, this way of thinking is not a good measure of success. If you say, “yes” to doing five different things how effective will you be to get at least one done in a timely manner without running yourself tired? It is more effective to choose one or two projects and see them through. When you are asked to lead something or do something and you really know you cannot give a definite yes, learn to say, “yes” to saying “no”.

If you value your self- importance on how much people need you, saying “no” maybe a task. The motive is not to remove you from working on your good-deeds by assisting others but be very selective before you volunteer your time.

It is so important that you learn not to over extend yourself. No one will value your time the way you will. Learn to say “no” in a pleasant way. Of course some people will be offended but you know exactly what you can handle at that time. It is up to you to control your time. Learn to say “no”. Here are a number of ways you can say “yes” to saying “no.”

Ways to say the word “no”

  1. “I do apologize, I can’t dedicate the time that is needed.”
  2. “That is a great idea, I just have too much on my plate right now.”
  3. I would like to assist you but right now I have several projects that I need to complete.”
  4. Suggest a quick solution to the problem or an idea, do not suggest anyone else’s time to complete the task.

Learn to value your time by considering your priorities first.  In order for you to follow-through with other people’s agenda you must first prioritize your agenda.

Get The Right Answers When You Ask The Right Questions

As a huge fan of self-reflection in general and having seen the evidence of it’s impact on success many times in working with clients (and myself) the only real question becomes: what questions do you ask yourself that have the power to elicit the answers that are vital for you to manifest your dreams. Today, I’m sharing 15 of my favorites with you. An important part of your coach’s job is to ask the right questions. We train for years to know which ones are the right ones as from the thousands of questions your coach can ask you, there is always one perfect one for each client conversation. Knowing that question is both an art and a science. Since this article is something of a one-sided conversation, the following questions are by necessity somewhat general, still, one will be the right question for you in the moments that you are reading it.

Take a few moments to think about your business in general or a specific aspect of your business that you want clarity on today. Read the following questions out loud slowly and notice how you respond to each one emotionally. One or two questions will truly resonate with you in the moment and you will feel within yourself as you read that question that it holds an important answer for you. Don’t force the answers. Simply ask yourself the question or questions that your intuition responded to throughout the day and the answer will reveal itself.

Inspired Action | Asking the Right Questions

1. Why am I in this business?
2. What is the biggest dream I can dream?
3. Who does and does not support my dreams?
4. How can I attract even more abundance in my life?
5. What is great about me? (and don’t you dare say “nothing”!)
6. What thoughts do I have that empower me?
7. What is going right in my life?
8. How much well-being can I allow into my life? What will that look like?
9. What will make me feel good in this moment?
10. What is the most effortless way to get this done?
11. Who can help me with this project?
12. What choice feels best in this situation?
13. What thought right now will make me feel good about being me today?
14. What are the top 3 things I can let go of in my daily routine that would allow me to focus on income-producing activities instead?
15. What are the 3 biggest things I know I could do to increase my contribution and value?

Use these questions to motivate and empower yourself to live the life of your dreams.

And, of course, have fun with this.

Tips on How To Overcome Self Doubt

Inspired Action | Overcoming Self DoubtIf you are a person who suffers from self-doubt, then you probably feel like you’re the only one who doesn’t have confidence in your abilities. Actually, you may feel that everyone views you in the same way you view yourself. Self-doubt is an issue that many people deal with in their lifetime, but it is one that can be conquered. All you need is a little determination, persistence and patience.

Below are some simple steps for overcoming self doubt.

1 – Verbally Compliment Yourself – You may feel a little silly doing this at first, but it is a critical thing to do when working on overcoming self doubt. In the morning, when you go to the bathroom, look at yourself in the mirror and give yourself a compliment. It may just be something simple like, “I look good today.” It doesn’t really matter what it is, the point is that you compliment yourself. You are your toughest critic, so if your toughest critic can give you a compliment every day, everyone else should be easy, right?

2 – Address the Problem – In order to overcome your struggle with self-doubt, you have to acknowledge it’s there first. So, sit down and think for a minute. What exactly is it about yourself that you doubt? Are there specific instances when you doubt yourself more than others? If so, what are those instances? Write them down. This process will help you specifically identify what it is that you fear the most. It may be that you aren’t confident in your speaking abilities or you doubt your professional abilities. Once you know what the problem area is, you can begin to work on it.

3 – Find the Good – Now that you’ve determined what it is you doubt about yourself, write down every good quality you have. It doesn’t matter if you are a good cook, have great typing skills, are punctual or are great with other people. Whatever good qualities you have, write them down. And, write them down in “I” statements. For instance, “I am a great journalist.” Use this list of “I” statements to read in the morning when you give yourself a compliment. This step is key in overcoming self doubt as it will give you a list of things that you feel good about.

4 – Keep a Daily Journal – A great way to build your confidence and and work on overcoming self doubt is to begin keeping a daily journal. Throughout the day, write down everything good that you do. Basically, you want to write down all of your accomplishments over the course of each day. Then, at night right before bed, take the list out and read over it. End the day by reading good things about yourself and you’ll be more likely to wake up thinking good things about yourself.

5 – Talk to Friends – Everyone has at least one friend, so I don’t want to hear that you don’t have any friends to talk to. When you’re suffering from self-doubt, you need a support group to help you talk your way out of the self-doubt pit and back up to your mainland of confidence. This is what good friends are for. Use them!

6 – Celebrate – Don’t place minimal importance on your achievements. Celebrate them! You need to celebrate the specific times when you overcome your self-doubt and achieve something you didn’t think was possible. These celebrations will give you more motivation to keep on going!

Self doubt is a real problem that affects many people. However, you can defeat it. The six steps listed above may seem simple. That’s because they are! Start implementing them in your daily life and you’ll be amazed at the difference they will make and you will also be amazed at the progress you make with overcoming self doubt.
